Diana Rogovin Davidow Speech Language Hearing Center
Established in 1931, the Speech Language Hearing Center (SLHC) of Brooklyn College is a cutting-edge facility. Diagnostic and therapeutic speech, language, and hearing services are provided under the supervision of licensed speech-language pathologists and audiologists. The center is available to individuals across the lifespan, including students, staff, faculty, and residents from Brooklyn and beyond.
Located in Boylan Hall, the center serves as a clinical education site for master’s degree students in Brooklyn College’s Speech Language Pathology Program and for doctoral audiology students of the CUNY Au.D. program.
The center sponsors several research and community service programs, such as the Auditory and Communication Research Center (ACRC), the Oliver Bloodstein chapter of the National Stuttering Association, a specialty lab in the study of voice, communication groups for adults with aphasia, parent training for families of children with autism, and social skills training for children with varying communication concerns.
The center is also a training facility that works closely with the academic program, which is accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. Graduate students in the Brooklyn College Department of Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders work under the supervision of speech-language pathologists and audiologists licensed by the New York State Education Department and certified by ASHA.
For hours of operation or to make an appointment, call 718.951.5186. The center is generally open year-round Monday through Friday, except when the college is closed.
